A university with 190-year history of education, which began with the founding of the Leeds Mechanics Institute in 1824. Higher Education Regulating Authority, Zambia

The Higher Education Authority (HEA) is a grant aided institution established under the Higher Education Act No. 4 of 2013, to ensure quality of delivery of services by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The HEA began its operations in 2015 with a Mandate: “To coordinate, regulate, supervise and monitor standards of higher education in Zambia.” Its vision is: “To be an efficient and effective higher education regulatory agency which will bring forth a quality higher education system which is well coordinated, accessible, equitable, responsive and relevant.”


Bostwana Qualifications Authority

The Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) is a parastatal organisation established by the Botswana Qualifications Authority Act, No 24 of 2013, to provide for and maintain the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCQF) and to coordinate the education, training and skills development quality assurance system, from early childhood to tertiary level (lifelong learning).
